Comments about Sanus VisionMount Component Shelf Wall Mount:
I purchased this product for the bedroom to adjoin the flat screen TV I was hanging on the wall. Unlike most of the displays I saw, I hung this OVER the TV and not below it. The requirement I had was a minimalist look since space was at a premium. Quite frankly, I was tired of the TV cabinet which also housed the cable box/DVD from taking up valuable room space.
The unit for the most part is well constructed and could hold far more weight then I ever intended to use it for. One initial concern I had is that the arms of the unit have a fairly wide spread. It might behoove you to ensure the devices you intend to use it for (DVD/Cable box) are not narrow enough that they cannot be fully seated upon them. (Or use the idea I mentioned below)
The install was fairly painless as I attached it to the wall studs. Most people I imagine will probably do the same. To do this though you really need a stud finder as it's critical to properly locate them before attaching the unit to the wall. You can pick up one of these stud finders pretty cheaply at any hardware/home improvement store. A power drill/screwdriver to me is also a must as driving the lag bolts into the wall without one will be exceedingly difficult if you were to do this by hand.
In regards to adjustments, there really isn't much you can do in that area. Obviously make sure you either hang the TV first (though it may get in your way) or make sure you know just how much space the TV needs before attaching the unit to the wall. There's no way to undo it without leaving big holes in the wall if you have to adjust the location.
My one minor complaint in design was the housing where you could theoretically hide some of the cables. The room is fairly limited and it really could have used some built in hooks or such to secure the cables. Trying to hide anything more then a small flimsy cable is like trying to squeeze into a pair of jeans you wore when you were 17. It probably won't fit and you'll be frustrated with the end results. The black snap on cover really doesn't snap on very tightly so the slightest bulging cable will pop the cover off. I think this could use a bit of reengineering in my humble opinion.
Overall though I think I made the right choice as it really met my requirements at a decent price. The one add-on I did though was I purchased a 2x4 sheet of decorative sheet metal at a home improvement center. I then cut it to size and spray painted it a matching black. Once dried, I laid this on the arms of the unit then stacked the DVD/cable box. This helped hide the underside of the cable box and gave it a more finished appearance.

Very sturdy. Only improvement would be to have this mount with multiple "arms" to hold several components.

Comments about Sanus VisionMount Component Shelf Wall Mount:
The rack is exactly what I needed. When installed it holds my DVR next to my wall-mounted TV in the bedroom. Pros: Light and solid, allows plenty of room for cables and wiring. Cons: Installation was pretty basic, but extremely large wall screws (maybe a pro) and I installed the wall bracket upside-down the first time. (BTW, no adjustments of rack that I'm aware of.)
Service and delivery comments:
An easy and pleasant shopping experience. Took a little longer to arrive than I anticipated.

The shelf went up fast and matches the swivel arm mount for the HDTV. This design means that there is no actual shelf to dust or to obstruct air flow.

Comments about Sanus VisionMount Component Shelf Wall Mount:
This seems like a good product. The metal parts are solid and well made. If you're concerned about it's ability to support heavy stuff, you should feel good about it. I almost feel like I could do pull-ups on the bars. The rounded plastic cover which goes over the wall mount is a bit flimsy and brittle, but it should not be too vulnerable to damage once everything is set up.
